Zwakala, a National Competition for deaf learners, was launched by DTV in 2006. The first year saw learners designing a birthday card for Madiba. In the years 2007-2012, Zwakala grew into a strong brand where learners could enter 4 categories. Each year all the provinces are visited and their performances are filmed.
